" Rip Van Winkle"

“Rip Van Winkle” is about a man named Rip who has been married a few times however he still feel like a slave to his wife. He slacks at home on housework and he does not have a real job. All the neighborhood children love him and he spends time with them as much as possible. His best friend is his dog, Wolf, who he easily relates to. while hes headed home one day when he was on his way down the mountain Rip hears someone calling his name. Rip followed the man to a gathering in the woods. Rip falls asleep but when he awakes he has no idea that hes been sleep for years. His village is no longer subject to British control, but the Revolutionary War has made him a free citizen of the United States.
